The story of gay community in the Deep South that is forced to deal with the struggles of ignorance, hypocrisy and oppression. Despite the collective outings of Ellen DeGeneres, Elton John, Rosie O'Donnell and Olympic diver Greg Louganis, homophobia is alive and well -- especially in the small towns of the Deep South of USA. Focusing on the day-to-day struggles of two Mississippi gay bars and the grateful patrons who often travel hundreds of miles to find them. These bars are places of comfort for those whose everyday lives are prisons in a very real sense of the word: They are watched, monitored, guarded, and potentially subject to death by those doing God’s work.
